Since When Do We Make Kids APOLOGIZE For Their Race?

So a student, who to the faculty of his school "looks white", is forced to APOLOGIZE for his alleged "White Dominance" even though he is biracial and being raised by his Black mother. She is standing up for his right not to be humiliated and denigrated for the sake of Critical Race Theory and a grade. How many other students are in the same situation? How many good kids are being vilified for the sake of a false and accusatory political narrative masquerading as "social justice?" Parents must stand up for their children. Many parents are unaware that these political narratives are being presented to students as factual at every level of education starting with our youngest kids. Remember, the Left has actually produced academic "studies" from soft science programs that babies are racist. BABIES!!! My three week old granddaughter likes anyone who picks her up and cuddles her. I doubt she cares much who does it although she smiles at Mommy because MOMMY FEEDS HER!!!! 

By the way, there is a way to defeat these tin star heroes of the Woke Left. And that is to refuse to accept their behavior at any level. Whether it's Antifa buring down a Federal building or woke politicians like AOC and Aryanna Pressley spreading toxic messaging via bully pulpits, it is long past time to push back and force these bullies out of the safety of their hallowed niches in Academia and Government. It's going to take effort and it's going to mean risk, but if you value your children's futures, you will stop letting the Mockingbird Media and the Leftists Ideologues set limits for the rest of us.

Teaching Is Like an Abusive Relationship

I read it.
Then I read it again
It's not from an American source, it's from the UK. And teachers there are seeing the same behavior or worse than we are experiencing here. Just this week the head of Special Ed at my school, who runs the BIC or behavior intervention room for seriously mentally ill students (she has three at the most at any one time) publicly complained about having to teach my subject, high school art, in her contained setting. "It's hard." She said. "I don't know how to handle things," she whined. She ignores that quite often she orders seriously disabled and quite disruptive students into our classes of 30 or more. Furthermore she wants to bring her class down to one of my teachers and drop them off for art ignoring that this teacher already has a full class of 30 students many of whom come to her with paperwork. But because she has the ear of the administration and a doctorate in Special Education, I'm sure they will listen to her first and ask us later. I keep telling my husband I can't do this anymore. We're going to be heading for a new schedule next year. Instead of 90 students a semester I will see 180. That means twice as many students will paperwork. Inclusion is not working and although it makes the parents feel good, it causes a great deal of resentment by the other students who often wait a couple of years to get in a class and then have it constantly disrupted by special needs students who have no ability or interest in the class.

This is why our education system is failing. When we place the needs of a small group who will never work outside a sheltered environment over those of the kids we will depend on to keep this nation on its feet, we are investing in a losing cause.

God help us.

Aftermath 2012

I'm disappointed. I go back to that scene in "A Fish Called Wanda" where the crazy brother is clinging to the plane shouting DIS A PPOINTED!! Maybe I was naive. I thought that a decent man with a good plan and a history of turning around failed enterprises could win a national election. I thought that mere expertise stood for something.

But I guess you can't compete with the Celebrity Presidency that has evolved under this president. He seems more eager to talk to Letterman or Leno than his own briefing committees. Obama has had the media run interference. They have ignored by and large the overruns of Obamacare, which will hit us all in January's paycheck. The media failed to fully reveal the extent of involvement of the Attorney General in Fast and Furious. The media absolutely covered for the president himself on Benghazi, with CBS only releasing the full transcripts of a key interview Sunday night before the election. I do not know what the media has been promised. I know newspapers are bleeding red ink. I suspect that networks are being hit by a similar change in allegiance as young people drift to internet shows or movies ignoring standard fare. Could a media bailout be in the works? And, like the GM bailout, would it be based along political lines? Who knows? All I know is that I feel that the media played a key role in Obama's reelection. And don't even get me started on the MSNBC ad buy as a gift in kind. The most disgusting aspect of this was how the media spewed venom and lies at the public as fact in regards to Mitt Romney. I had a student swear to me yesterday that her preacher told her Romney would reinstate slavery. This is an almost direct quote from Biden, which the media distributed with impunity. They have a great deal to answer for.

My fears are the same ones I have had for three years. We appear to have a president that operates without principles or a budget. We appears to have the same essential set up in Congress for stalemate. But what is worse, we have the same stale ideas in play. I think that term limits across the board would go a long way in changing the status quo. I also think "no budget, no pay" should be instated to compel Congress to write a budget and for a president to sign it. I also believe that despite all the backpatting and self-congratulatory chatter, the Democrats are digging a much deeper hole. Today 2000 workers were laid off from Boeing. The stock market lost 313 points. Tomorrow key numbers on employment are supposed to be issued, and many believe that the most recent October numbers will be adjusted upward due to California's "accidental" failure to report last month. All I know is that my family is treading water and there's the real possibility that January's check will be less than December's. With that type of thing occurring across the nation in order to pay higher taxes (our 'fair' share) and provide money for all those freebies that Democrats like to shower on favorable demographic groups, next year is looking more bleak than this one. And that's no way to start a new year. Hey, maybe those Mayans knew what they were talking about.

"Honor" Killings

We had a tragic double murder in our area this week. Two teenaged girls were believe to be killed by their father, a native of Egypt. He was upset that they were becoming "too American", that they wanted to date American boys and their bullet riddled bodies were found in his taxi at DFW airport. A candlelight vigil was held last night, which the girls' mother and brother attended. They are in hiding because the man who did this is running from the police. What was an area wide manhunt has now gone nationwide and will probably extend past our borders. And in our diverse upscale suburban community, this isn't the first recognized death of a woman by her husband based upon what amounts to tribal beliefs. A few years ago, a woman from Pakistan was burned to death and her husband caught trying to leave the country. We like to encourage diversity and support those who peacefully reside here. But there has been a change. Suddenly people don't want to assimilate, they simply want to export their brand of living here-never mind that that was the roadblock to success "back home" Why is this happening? Because within a small backward segment of humanity, there are people who think that women and children are owned and that the patriarchal legend of controlling every member of the family holds true in the 21st century. I have no doubt that he is being harbored by relatives or friends that hold similar sympathetic views. That is what is common in this situation. The murderer is a member of the family, the family will not turn him over to police. In a recent honor killing in Canada, there were a great number of public statements from the mosques of that area saying that this was NOT a feature of Islam. I agree in as far as that goes. But tribal beliefs, now being exported to other countries, is being tacitly supported by the silence of these religious communities. We are not privy to their worship, nor do they welcome us in any way that seems open or aboveboard. How long are we going to continue to allow these barbarians to exact what amounts to sharia law within our own nation. If executing a criminal who has done serious harm to others is wrong according to the ACLU and other groups, why is the silence so deafening in regards to the untimely deaths of women at the hands of their husbands?

I am not a huge supporter of Amnesty International or the UN. However, there is one area in which I believe they are right. Honor killings, bride burnings and other types of attacks largely against women are a serious side effect of illiteracy and ignorance. The reason that I am bringing this up is that I believe the tragic murder of two young women is directly related to patriarchal belief that women and children are chattel to be bartered and should be restricted and treated as such. When this type of cultural overlay runs up against modern freedom as practiced in the western world, there are going to be those who resist. This isn’t the first time we have had such an instance. There was a bride burning in Carrollton not so many years ago. And there is speculation that retaliation against women in arranged marriages is largely underreported due to fear or retaliation, lack of trust for authorities and little means of escape from what should be labeled as an abusive situation. Please note, this isn’t a byproduct of Islam, although many like to put it in those terms. Instead it’s a cultural phenomenon that has been perpetuated by tribal beliefs that supersede the structure of national laws. Although widely condemned, such honor killings as well as forced suicides are not unheard of in many parts of the world, most notably Asia and India. The movement of people to new lands has exported this barbaric system around the world. I wonder if police departments would look further into some disappearances, some redacted accusations and some “accidents” resulting in the death of a woman or child, if they wouldn’t find suspicious circumstances anticipating such a sad end. Here’s what I found in a short research. You can find more detailed and still sadder stories. I just wonder if we witnessed another such instance in Lewisville this past week.

“ As of 2004, honor killings have occurred within parts of various countries, such as Albania, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Germany, India, Iraq, Israel (within the Arab, Druze and Bedouin communities)[8], Italy, the Palestinian territories, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Uganda, and the United States.[citation needed]

According to the UN:

"The report of the Special Rapporteur ... concerning cultural practices in the family that are violent towards women (E/CN.4/2002/83), indicated that honour killings had been reported in Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, the Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey, Yemen, and other Mediterranean and Persian Gulf countries, and that they had also taken place in such countries as France, Germany and the United Kingdom, within migrant communities." [9]

Sharif Kanaana, professor of anthropology at Birzeit University states that honor killing is:

“A complicated issue that cuts deep into the history of Arab society. .. What the men of the family, clan, or tribe seek control of in a patrilineal society is reproductive power. Women for the tribe were considered a factory for making men. The honor killing is not a means to control sexual power or behavior. What's behind it is the issue of fertility, or reproductive power.[2]

An Amnesty International statement adds:

“The regime of honour is unforgiving: women on whom suspicion has fallen are not given an opportunity to defend themselves, and family members have no socially acceptable alternative but to remove the stain on their honour by attacking the woman.[13]

Islamic religious authorities prohibit extra-legal punishments such as honor killings, since they consider the practice to be a cultural issue.[15] They believe that since certain pre-Islamic cultures have influence over a number of Muslims, murderers of females use Islam to justify honor killing, but claim there is no support for the act in the religion itself. The death penalty cannot always be applied in the Sharia as murders are a type of "qisas" ("retaliation") crime 2-178. This means that the deceased's family should be offered the choice of capital punishment or "diyya" ("blood money") and no execution can take place without them opting for death. Because a relative(s) is usually responsible for the honor killing, it is unlikely that the deceased's family will punish one of their own for the crime.[16] However other punishments can be legislated and the murderer cannot pardon himself.[17]"
